Henry Kane – Den Förstörda Människans Rike (Review)

Henry KaneHenry Kane is a one-man deathgrind/death metal/crust project from Sweden.

This is quite hard to classify, but essentially Den Förstörda Människans Rike is a festering, ugly mix of Swedish death metal, hardcore/crust and Swedish grind.

This is deathgrind of the highest, yet filthiest variety. Think of a mutant mix of Dismember, Nails, Anaal Nathrakh, Nasum and Martyrdöd.

Hells yeah!

The music is harsh, unforgiving and ferocious. Also, have I mentioned yet that the entire thing is absolutely brilliant? No? Well I have now.

Birthed into this world by the singer of Wombbath, (also Ashcloud/Just Before Dawn), his voice graces this album with all of the power and force that you’d expect. His savage vocals somehow seem like they’re echoing inside your head and the relentlessly brutal assault of the music is pure torturous pleasure.

This is a monstrous album. It’s a monstrous album with a thundering sound. It’s a monstrous album with a thundering sound that wants to crush and kill you. Dead. Also, as you may have gathered; it sounds absolutely huge.

This is officially the first album to make it to my contenders-for-best-of-2017-album-list. There’s a full year to go yet, of course, and I’m sure there’s going to be a massive amount of great music released in 2017, but Henry Kane are already up there with the best of them in my mind, as Den Förstörda Människans Rike is just such a strong album.

Utterly essential for deathgrind fans everywhere.
